Soul Mutts combined with the NEW Tree Swing makes the perfect loss of a pet sympathy card. Sometimes it is hard to find the right words to say “I am sorry for your loss”, but with this card it says it all.
I wanted to show the passing of a pet by keeping the dog in the gray tones and have the little girl in color. As her image gets closer to the dog it is also gray, as if part of her has also gone away. That is how we feel when we lose a pet. Hopefully the recipient of this card will know that somehow we understand.
Creating the Card
For this card I stamped the Puppy Paws background in Memento gray stamp pad. I colored the Tree Swing stamp and die cut it out using the Notched Squares die set and then layered it up in the gray and black cardstock. After coloring and cutting out the dog and his girl I popped it up on the lower corner with a sentiment from the set Soul Mutts.
