Candy Cane Magic

Here is an oldie-but-goodie image, and it’s just in time for whipping up some great Christmas cards too.  I had fun creating the shading on the gingerbread man by doing a bunch of little dots.  This technique takes a little patience, but it is worth it in the end.  It really does create a fun texture.  This card uses a small handful of the great products Whimsy Stamps carries, such as pattern paper, background stamp and dies.  Check out the info below.

Creating this Card:

I wanted to use the NEW 3in1 Mitered Frame die, so I decided to use the digital stamp Gingerbread Man that I had colored a while back.  The frame was die cut out, and I stamped it with the Cosmic Swirl background stamp, before popping it off of the pattern paper from Mix n Match – Neutrals.  The fact that the frame is wide makes it easy for shaker cards, as well as simply popping up the frame onto the card.  The Believe Word and Shadow die was cut out of white paper and colored with alcohol markers to compliment the main image.  Before assembling all the pieces I added the Twinkle Scribble die to the card to help frame the image, and bring the black that I used on the card all together.  I think this card looks magical, and perfectly holiday-ish.
