Gone Fishing

Isn’t Luka so adorable in his fishing gear? Every time I see a new Luka from La-La Land Crafts, I just HAVE to color him up. You are going to be thrilled with all the new dies in this release as well.

We have been doing a bit of fishing lately in our little neck of the woods, and our little one caught a Rainbow Trout, so I thought I would color the fish to look like one.

Creating this Card:

This layout is more on the simple side, but on a “boy” card I try not to make it too “froofy”. “Froofy” is actually a word, and slang or not, I tend to use it a lot.

(slang) Frilly; heavily ornamental; fancy; overly elaborate.

So, back to the card…after coloring him up, and cutting the rectangle layer, I added some stitches with my marker. All layers have a red mat to accent his red shirt. I decided to use the gold and white speckled paper from the Summer Vibes paper packet. The top sentiment comes from the Fishing Luka stamp set, and I chose to use the bottom sentiment from Fishing Marci rubber stamp set. You know you NEED both of the stamp sets.

Once I stamped the lower sentiment I gave it a little border using the Fishing Rod die layered in blue and red cardstock. I cut off the fishing line and flipped it over to send it the other direction.

Simple and sweet!
