Just Believe

All I could think of  was candy canes when creating this card.  Combined with a vintage looking bear, and the NEW Believe Word and Shadow die, made for the perfect Christmas card.  If you haven’t made any Christmas cards yet, I give you full permission to get started, and this might be is a little inspiration.

Take a peek at the inside of the die-cut of the Observation Deck die, do you see the pattern?  This pattern is the latest Slimline folder called Holly.  All these fun folders can be found HERE.  Once you die-cut the front of the card, run the cut out portion through the die-cut machine with the embossing folder, and now you have a pattern.  Cool huh?

Creating the Card:

The card front was created by running a white and black piece of cardstock through the die-cut machine using the Observation Deck die.  I put the black cut-out piece back into the white cut out, and embossed the centers with the Holly folder.  I love how you can use some slimline dies for A2 cards, and as you can see two openings work well for the A2. The sentiment is the NEW Believe die and was also cut twice with black and white, and then assembled.

The image of the bear Maynard was colored and hand cut, and then slipped into the open lower window, and then the embossed portion was placed behind it.  Did you know I drew this bear for Whimsy Stamps, and it was designed after a real hand made teddy bear a friend created?  True story, and now you know!

This whole panel was adhered to a black mat, and then popped up onto a background pattern paper.  I created the background paper using my Catherine Pooler favorite inks, and probably my most used background stamp, Brushed Stripe.
