Here Fishy-Fishy

Where do I even start?  This card was just the coolest scene to create.   I have a second card using a whale from the Hey Chum clear stamp set coming soon.  I don’t think I will be able to stop there either, because that turtle can’t be left out of the fun.  If you love salty sea life, then you better snag all the cool stuff that was just released from La La Land Crafts!

If you love dies as much as I do then you are going to be “hooked”!

Creating this Card:

I had the idea in my head of an all white card with just the shark colored.  It didn’t take long before some blue was added as an accent color.  The first thing I did was to die cut 3 layers of white cardstock using the new Under the Sea die set.  I love how the “bubbles” are part of the die.  If you cut your paper larger than an A2 size, you have room to adjust the layers as needed.

I popped up the three layers, and then placed them on top of a stamped Here Fishy Fishy background paper.  Silly me didn’t notice the fish were all heading down…oops…shhhh.  Next I used the Seaweed die to create the accents, and some of them are from the Under the Sea die set too.

I colored and cut out the shark, and then popped him up in the center of the card.  One of my favorite dies is the Fishing Net die, and once I die cut it I cut it in half and placed it on the lower edge of the card.  This sentiment was so perfect, and after I stamped it I popped it up off the card.  The last thing was to die cut a rope from the Ropes die, and place it on the upper edge of the card.  It’s all in the details.

  1. Love this card. Just recent found LaLaLand Crafts and your blog. You are very talented. For the Under the Sea die you talk about cutting the paper more than an A2. So what size is your card in this pic? I have the Under the Sea die but not sure how to place it and get the right effect on A2 size paper. Thinking I should make a 6×6 card base. Still kinda new to card making… any tips for this gorgeous die? Just added the rope die to my cart. ? thanks so much.
