Creating this Card:

What a fun, cheerful and colorful card, don’t you think?

I wanted a black frame, and a white center from the Slimline Connected Rectangles die, so I die-cut it out of both black and white cardstock.  The inside of the black was discarded, as well as the outside of the white.  Once I had my pieces, the black piece was adhered onto my A2 size card base.  I love that I can cut down this die to fit my needs, and do not necessarily have to use it as a slimline card.

In order to get the cloud backdrop, I die cut one of the clouds from the Grass and Cloud Edgers die.  This piece was used in order to ink up a sky background, using a blending brush and stamp pad onto the white cardstock die cut pieces.  I adhered the cloud background inside the openings of the Connected Rectangles.

Both the shark and trees from Shark Fest were colored, and then hand-cut (fussy-cut) out.  Using a bit of foam pop-up tape, I popped them all up on the card.  Being that this is a festive card, I felt it needed a string of flags, so I die cut a flag banner from the Slimline Bunting Borders die set, and popped it up between the trees.
