I just had too! How many friends whine about getting older…well here is the perfect card to show your love. Maybe they are on a diet and bragging about the weight loss. When jealously takes over, you can create and send them this special card. You are welcome. Why settle for a wonderful cute card with a cake when you can send one with a bit of attitude.
You might have missed the latest Whimsy Stamps release, and I am sorry I haven’t had time to show it off as I have been traveling. I dont want you to miss out, so I thought I would create something fun for this occasion. Be sure and check out the full release HERE.
Creating this Card:
If you love to paper-piece you will enjoy creating this card. The Make a Wish comes in both a stamp set as well as an outline die. For this card I just used the outline die. The cake and the frosting layers were die cut out, and then I used the Micro Patterns clear stamps to create the light gray dots on two of the layers. After coloring the edges of the frosting I placed them on the cake layers.
For the base of the card, I layered up some pattern paper and cardstock in complimenting colors, and then adhered them to the card. Using the Stitched and Pierced circle die, the background circle, behind the words, was created and then ran through the embossing machine with the new Wave Length slimline embossing folder to create the fun pattern. Once it was adhered to the card base layers, I added on the cake.
The sentiment was created using one of my favorite letter die set, Bold ABC dies, and it went perfectly with the idea I had in my mind. To finish off the card, I added sprinkles to the cake frosting using some Sparkletz “Cupcake” pink embellishments. You can also find these in the Whimsy Stamps store.
