Across the Miles, Smiles

Have you checked out the latest release from Whimsy Stamps yet?  Here is another tease…gnomes are in-da-houz, or rather above the house, flying high.  Thought I would send you a smile today.

Creating this Card:

Up, up and away!  Another simple card, using some fun products.  The Gnome One Like You clear stamp set was perfect for my idea, and I chose to use the gnome with the balloon for this card.

The layers were created for the base of the card by layering the Doodlebug “Baby Boy” star paper onto a yellow and blue layer of cardstock.  This layer was placed onto the card base.  The cool die cut city silhouette was created using the Cityscape slimline die set, and popped up off the card.

Have you seen the clear stamp set, Simple Sentiment Strip?  This set has so many cool sentiments, for so many occasions and was what gave me the idea for this card.  After stamping the sentiment, I layered it on the yellow and blue cardstock and popped it up off the die cut piece.  The last thing to do was color and hand-cut the gnome, and then pop him up off the front of the card.  I chose to put him at an angle to give the appearance there was some wind.  It’s the little details that count.

After completing the card layout, I added some of my favorite Nuvo drops in white to break up the large blue cityscape, and give the card more texture.
