Vacancy

Okay, I usually shy away from most spooky things, other then skulls (don’t ask me why I like skulls because I don’t know), but COME ON…what is not to like about this!!  Spooky Mansons, crooked fence and some fun ghosts getting their BOOgy on!  These are just a few of the latest products released from Whimsy Stamps.

WHOA, I did not color a single thing with my Copics!  Here are a few reasons why I am so drawn to this card.  The colors are so stark and contrasty.  It is like doing a black and white card (which I love) but with a different color added.  The layout of the card makes me happy, and THAT background stamp is swoon-alicious and perfect for s spooky mansion!

Creating this Card:

Okay, lets get to business with how I created the card, because I know you’re just “dying” to find out.  Using my Tonic Studios Nuvo Jet Black embossing powder, I stamped and heat embossed the Vintage Wallpaper background onto yellow paper.  I love the detail of this embossing powder.

Now this is where I got a little fancy.  Taking the Hillside Slimline die, I die-cut the image in white and then chopped off the lower portion to fit on an A2 card front.  I added part of the lower portion of the die cut back to the image so the border was complete, and then added part of a fence for balance.  the windows were also added back to the mansion but prior to that I colored them in yellow (oops, guess I did use a tiny bit of ink)

Next, I added a few die-cut ghosts in a white and black layer from the Boo die set popped up for some dimension, and embossed the word Vacancy from the Grave Epitaphs clear stamp set.

The layers were then added to a black, white and yellow layer of cardstock to bring all the colors together.
