How about an all-dies card to start out with for the new Whimsy release today. This fun snow scene, and had me singing Jingle Bells, while happily crafting. This whole release is filled with a lot of snowy themes, and will definitely get you in the mood for Christmas.
Creating this Card:
Okay, this might be a little long-winded but a lot of layers went into the making of this card. Here goes…
I die cut the center of the Shaker Maker Glitter Globe onto a white card base. Blurry Flurries paper was added to the inside, so that it shows through the card opening. The second opening was created by using another white piece of card stock, and die cutting it using the same die. This layer was embossed with an embossing folder, and then popped up off the card base.
The top layer was created by using the largest die in the Globe set, and then dry embossed. Once again this layer was popped up. Now comes the fun part in designing the card.
The Scenic Countryside die set has so many fun elements, but for this card I used a few houses, and the fence. First I die cut the base of the snow globe, and then adhered a few houses and the fence to the back of it. I also added the trio of trees from Tree Assortment dies, and once they were adhered under the base, I popped up this layer onto the front of the card.
The rest of the pieces were from the Tree Assortment die set, and were slipped in-between each popped up layer to create the dimension of the card, as well as added to the card front. Using Everyday Scripted Sentiments, I stamped the sentiment in blue and then used my markers to add variation to that color. This card was finished off by adding some complimentary Nuvo Crystal Drops.
This card looks cool with a little backlighting, and would look even cooler if you added light inside.
