Stampendous Sneak Peek – Day 7

This is the piece that made the front cover of the Stampendous catalog.  I was shocked and very very excited.   This piece actually spent quite a few hours in the trash can before making another attempt at it.   This is a painted canvas using acrylic paint and my airbrush and copics as well as a stencil from Dreamweavers.  Let me briefly take you through the steps.  Be sure and leave some love and finish along the hop for your chance to win.

I stamped my image (Jumbo Magnolia) on a stretched canvas.  Using acrylic paint I started painting within the lines of the flower. I stamped a second image on paper and cut out the leaves leaving the flower in tact.  I have now made a image mask.  Using my airbrush and homemade mask I airbrushed the leaves in.  I then stamped the image one more time and cut out the complete flower.  placing it on top on the whole flower and leaves I airbrushed the background.  I added a flourish using my dreamweaver stencil.

A few of my teammates are showing off new products from Stampendous as well!  Not only do some of them have their own blog candy, Stampendous will be drawing a winner for these great prize packs.

How do you win it? It’s easy! THREE of the bloggers today will be choosing a random commenter from their blog, and those lucky people will be announced on the Stampendous blog Tuesday, July 31 (please leave comments by Monday, July 30 at 11:59 PM PST). 1. I love magnolia flowers, and your painting is just beautiful. Love the airbrushed background, totally awesome. A real eye candy. Hugs.

  2. THE TRASH? I just don't know what to say—coming from the LEAST artistic person on the planet (my niece, at 3, produced better art than I did–she tried to make me feel better—it's nice, Aunt Sharon….). So sad. So, I hope that you are thankful that you are SO DARNED GIFTED!!!!! EEK, I love that painting. I hope that you love it now, too! GORGEOUS!

  3. Wow, that is so beautiful! I really wish I knew how to paint now! Congratulations on making the cover, that must be so exciting!

  8. This is so amazing! I mean you have really pushed my mind to the edge of stamped art, and I love it. I don't know if I could ever try this, but I adore your abilities to create this piece of art.
