Hey Cutie Bat-ootie

If you like bats and gravestones you will love this card.  I took the Slimline Decrepit Grave die and shortened it a bit, because I love working with the A2 size cards.  It was perfect for that.  I could have turned it into a shaker card, but photos don’t do it justice, so I left it as a little frame. I love the way it turned out, don’t you?

Creating this Card:

I die cut out all the pieces from the Slimline Decrepit Grave die and gave them some shadowing, and detail using my OLO Markers.  Once assembled I placed it onto the patterned paper from the Hocus Pocus paper packet.  This piece was layered onto black cardstock, and I colored the card base raggedy to give the tattered look to the black mat.  Once the layers were adhered to the card base, I colored up the cute bat image.  You can see that I accentuated the eyes to be more round and have character.  This technique is called Creative Color Placement.  All done with exact ink placement in certain areas.  If you like to use dies for cutting out images, you can find it in the Whimsy store.

Once the bat from Cutie Batootie clear stamps was added to the card front, I die cut the letters from the Bold ABC die set to create the word “HEY”, and then added the sentiment strip.  This bat is just the cutest as well as the rest on the set.
